PRSO & Štěpánka Balcarová: Life and Happiness of Julian Tuwim

Štěpánka Balcarová created an orchestral version of her debut album Life and Happinesssof Julian Tuwim. The composer, known primarily as the leader of the progressive big band Concept Art Orchestra or the bandleader of the Czech-Polish formation Inner Spaces, has compiled this solo album from the poems of the Polish author Julian Tuwim (1894–1953). His poetry appears "seemingly simple and straightforward, but each poem hides a profound idea".

Exactly the same is the congenial music that Štěpánka Balcarová has set the poems to. She invited the Polish singer Małgorzata Hutek and a Czech-Polish ensemble of excellent jazz players to realize the project.
